the hubby

Last week, the hubby, calling through a payphone from where he is, told me he had high blood pressure.

180/120.

I asked him how he was feeling and if he had medication and when he will be able to see a doctor given his circumstances.

After this he spoke seriously:
Pag nawala ako...kung mawala ako and papalitan mo ko...wag kang pipili ng kagaya ko ha.

I said ok but tears welled up in my eyes. I haven't cried about our situation for the longest time now. But this. I pushed back the tears.

What can I say?

a facebook post

i am a little bit emotional right now and need to write this down asap to capture this moment.  so i'm sneaking in a few minutes from work to get this out and over with.

it is not often that the hubby posts personal stuff on his or my FB wall.  but this, today, is one for the books.

(insert link here)

sort of redeems me from my previous post about being a failure as a mom.

thank you, hubby, for thinking of me this way.  and shouting it out to the world.  thank you for being the way you are and for accepting me the way i am. ♥

cactus

thinking of getting a cactus.  yes, that thorny prickly plant.  actually thinking of owning a collection of cactuses...errr... cacti.

over the weekend, i was obsessed with thai movies that until yesterday, i was searching for them on the internet.  i chanced upon a short film "cactus amnesia" and this started this sudden interest in this plant specie.

as we all know, this plant has thorns that can prick you when touched.  since they originally live in the desert, they don't need much care and attention.  you have to nurture the cactus by not watering it everyday for it can live without it for days.  it can sit there with you for a long time without you even noticing it growing.  with some species, you have to wait 2 years to 15 years for it to flower.  you just have to continue believing in its inner beauty and wait for it to come out.

i have one cactus in my life right now.  i'm getting more.

hubby and me

one of our...what should i call it... bonding days.

we went to quiapo church. a short prayer and off we went to our suppliers for our new business. years ago, he and i prayed at this same church when we requested for our first baby. little did we know that i was already pregnant at the time we were there. even if he didn't tell me, i know he prayed for our business. as i did. for it to become successful, for it to be a good source of providing for our family, for it to be our bond. aside from our marriage, that is.

we capped off the day with going to the grocery to buy a couple of items for the kids. nido fortified for migo, lactum 1+ and eq dry diapers (now size large finally) for julla. kids' shampoo, kids' toothpaste, kids' toothbrush, kids' body powder and kids' cologne. and two 1-liter bottles of C2 apple. a quick fastfood dinner of sharksfin and rice.

now home, he's downstairs chatting with friends, making the most of the time we have left in this community. pretty soon when we move to our new home and our new endeavor, he won't have much time for friends anymore.

but i know we're both happy with the way things are heading. things are definitely looking upfor this little family!

The problem with weekends

Monday to Friday, I stay in the office 9 hours per day and every single day of that, I long for the weekend. Once I get home Friday night, I am in heaven. I forget all my work problems, my rifts with my boss, my follow ups with suppliers…. I turn into happy-go-lucky mommy and wifee.

Eversince we moved to our new home, our weekends are usually spent together – the 3 of us, Migo, Cesar and me. We would do household chores, eat out for breakfast, watch tv, go shopping/palengke, swimming, just plain have fun. My parents would often visit us Sunday night.

The problem with weekends though is that by Monday morning, I find it hard to shift back from mommy/wifee mode to work mode. It takes a while before I respond to the ding-dong-ing of my cellphone's alarm and get up to take my morning shower. Usually, the shower perks me up a bit but when Migo wakes up and starts whining for "Mommeeeee...dito ka tabi ko..." I get lazy again. When I am finally able to dress up, I'd have to drag myself down the 5 floors (15 steps per floor) of our condo building. The cold or heat of the morning affects me as well. If it's hot, I'm cranky. If it's cold, I'm super sleepy. And the almost 1 hour ride to work is just awful. Add the traffic and I am really gone.

The worse part is when I get to the office and I'm already dead tired.

Geez... can't wait till Friday.
